Pisang Peak Climbing FAQ

A good level of physical fitness and prior trekking experience at high altitudes are required. You should be comfortable with strenuous hikes and be able to manage high-altitude conditions.

While technical climbing skills are not mandatory, basic mountaineering skills such as using crampons, ice axes, and fixed ropes will be required. Training and guidance are provided by experienced climbing guides.

The best time to climb Pisang Peak is during the pre-monsoon (March to June) and post-monsoon (September to November) seasons when weather conditions are most stable.

The total duration of the Pisang Peak climb, including trekking, acclimatization, and the climb itself, is usually around 18–19 days. The climbing can be done in minimum of 10 - 12 days if the availability is tight.

Yes, a trekking permit for the Annapurna Conservation Area (ACAP) and a climbing permit for Pisang Peak are required. These can be arranged through Himalayan Leisure, Inc.

There is no strict age limit, but climbers should be in good health and have the physical capacity to undertake the climb. Typically, climbers are between 18 and 60 years old. We accept climbers above 8 years old if accompanied by an adult. There is no upper age limit but strong physical fitness is recommended.

Accommodation is primarily in tea houses or basic lodges along the trekking route. During the climb, you'll stay in tents at Base Camp and High Camp.

The highest point of Pisang Peak is 6,091 meters (19,980 feet), which is reached on summit day.

You’ll need proper trekking and climbing gear, including warm clothing, trekking boots, sleeping bags, harness, helmet, crampons, and ice axe. A detailed packing list can be provided by Himalayan Leisure, Inc.
